So it's Friday night. Hubby flew to Cali to help his sister move here to Kansas. Sweet! Middle school child is at a dance. 20 year old is busy with girlfriend.
I have poured yet another glass of boxed wine and am watching the truck race and my mind wanders.
I am looking forward to FAMILY holiday gatherings. I know!!! But I really am. My family is scattered and I really like family gatherings.
I am praying we get into our house before Thanksgiving which is MY favorite holiday!
Can't wait!

The Good and Bad
Ok, so I've been thinking about all the "bad luck" that is supposed to be "good luck" that has transpired in the last year.
We visited Kansas and fell in love with it (good). Interviewed for a job a week later (good), flew to Kansas to interview for job and got the job (very good). A friend of ours was going to buy our house (good!). Put in an offer on a house in Kansas in September (yeah!!). California house didn't close by December and lost house in Kansas (bad). Found a better house and put in an offer (good!). House still didn't close in California due to probate issues and delays causing the whole deal to fall apart yet again! (bad!!) Started to rethink what we wanted here. Found a piece of property and are putting a modular home on it. (Big time good!) And, we can afford it all by ourselves! (outstandingly good!)
I guess lesson learned, is NEVER get your hopes up before all the key items are in place firmly because how you think things will be may NOT be what's BEST for YOU (or your family)! We have moved out of the house we were going to buy into a single wide mobile home next to the railroad tracks (lol, really you can't hear the trains very much). Not too bad. It serves a purpose and saves us money while our house is being built. Life is an adventure, right? (good!)
So right now, life is good. We are healthy, together, employed and have a much better quality of life than we ever had! Life is definitely not bad (very very good!)!!

I'm Not Over The Hill Just Yet!
Okay. So I'm trying this blogging application and it occurs to me that I MUST be crazy to try this...lol. I am absolutely amazed by technology and since EVERYBODY blogs, I figured, hey, my life should be an open book at this stage of my life. What could I possibly share that would endanger my "job hunting" prospects in the future. NADA, ZILCH....pretty boring life!
I've heard that when you reach mid-life you may have a mid-life crisis. So maybe this is my way of saying that "hey I'm not over the hill yet!" I can blog just like the kids do. My 20 year old keeps thinking that I'm mentally challenged when it comes to this stuff. I'm like "duh!" I've been using computers since they were invented. Now maybe I shouldn't have said that, but hey, its true!
So I will think very long and hard about tidbits of life to share as I climb the hill a little further each day. Just remember, I may be getting older, but...."shhh.... I'm not crazy!"
